Hi, my name is Edmarie. That's short for Eunice Olga Maria Patrice, which is short for Eunice. I'd dare to say that my passions play an important role in my life. In seventeen years I've been blessed with countless people who have made life a memorable thing. Optimistic? Yes. Stentorian? Definitely. However, the unkind years have taught the value of pessimism and silence. My dreams stretch farther than I can actually grasp onto. My friends are the most important people I have, and when I make them smile, then I smile. Sure, my dreams are as far-fetched as they can be, but that doesn't mean I can't accomplish them.

As much as I’d like to see Apolo Ohno compete in Sochi, I know that it’s probably not going to happen. I had the inkling that Vancouver was probably going to be his last Olympics, and as time passes it becomes more obvious that his focus is on other things. Honestly, I’m excited to see what he has to bring to the table—so far, we have speed skater, dancer, actor, author, entrepreneur (with his little 8zone venture) and motivational speaker.
But the little ten-year-old fan that resides in my heart wishes she could have seen him compete on the ice for one last time. She wants to see him, the young man who brought her out of her rut and her dark place, in action again. She wants to meet the mean who, by overcoming, helped her overcome as well.
In fact, I still do.

But all we ever did were skits. Mostly religious ones.
It’s nothing against that—I enjoyed those skits.
But I wanted to do a play.
I still hope to do a play. Someday.

Honestly, I was jealous of the elementary kids.
